SCHOOL JAZZ BAND
| Jazz Notes: The Westbrook High School Jazz Ensemble and Combo groups competed in the Maine State High School Jazz Festival held in Houlton, Maine on Saturday, March 16, 2002. Each group placed first among the eleven Division 1 schools in attendance. Musicians recognized from Westbrook were Derrick Ramos, sax player, and Tyler Britting, trombone player, each receiving Outstanding Musician awards in the Jazz Ensemble group. Likewise, several musicians were recognized in the Combo group including Derrick Ramos, sax player, Erin Wright, trumpet player, and Ben Toppi, percussion player with Outstanding Musician awards. The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Phil Rich and the Jazz Combo by Tony Boffa. |
