| Band Notes: December 29, 1999 - What everyone came to see and didn't go away disappointed. The Westbrook High School Marching Band was the best in Class A! It was a great day for the band, staff, parents and friends. The band performed flawlessly and took First Place in the Class A Division (Billrica, MA second). Those in attendance would say this was the best performance of the year. The band took an individual honor in best percussion. In fact, the percussion unit scored the highest of all classes at the competition (even beating out a 250 unit band from Oklahoma). During the Westbrook performance there was even a loud bellow from non other than Mr. Quinn to let the kids know they were fantastic. There were plenty of hugs and tears to go around after the win. After the competition the band headed to Universal Studios for another day of fun. Tomorrow it's time for the Citrus Bowl Parade with a new banner heralding the win. |
