How does it feel heading into your final marching band season?

It’s bittersweet, but I’m super excited for another season full of moments I’ll never forget. I’m sad that it will be one of the last seasons I’ll be performing with Westbrook.

What are you most excited for this year—any traditions, performances, or moments you’re looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to our band camp performance, and I can’t wait to see how much time we can shave off our hand squeeze circle after performances!

What has marching band meant to you over the years, and how has it shaped your high school experience?

Marching band helped me make an easy transition from middle school into high school. I’ve met so many friends—both currently in high school and those who have already graduated—through marching band. They have all truly made me feel like I belong and have a judgment-free place to be myself.

Do you have a favorite memory or moment from your time in marching band so far?

My favorite memory from marching band was either when I won the March Off and Jeff gave me a fist bump, or when it was so cold during a horn line practice that we started jumping between sets to warm up.

What advice would you give to younger band members just starting their marching band journey?

Take in every moment—yes, even the sweaty rehearsals and early call times. Time flies, and you’ll be amazed how fast you go from rookie to senior. Don’t be afraid to be yourself and lean into the friendships around you. This is more than just marching—it’s your band family. Also—don’t be afraid to connect with people outside of your section, and don’t wait to practice your music until the week before finals!

Jazzy, your passion, humor, and heart have brought so much spirit to the Westbrook Marching Band. Thank you for your leadership, your laughter, and your commitment to the music and people you love. We wish you an unforgettable senior year and a lifetime of joyful performances ahead! 💙🖤

Stay tuned as we continue spotlighting more amazing seniors this season! If you see this student on the field, be sure to give them a big high-five—they’re making their final season one to remember.
