Today, we’re excited to highlight Gabe Krupnek, a dedicated senior and talented member of the Westbrook High School Marching Band drumline! Gabe’s energy, focus, and sense of humor make him an unforgettable part of the band family.

How does it feel heading into your final marching band season?
“It feels weird to be in my last season.”
What are you most excited for this year—any traditions, performances, or moments you’re looking forward to?
“Nothing specific—I’m really just happy to be back and getting to be in the band again this year.”
What has marching band meant to you over the years, and how has it shaped your high school experience?
“Marching band has been a lot of fun for me. It’s given me a chance to meet kids from a different school and be part of something really special.”
Do you have a favorite memory or moment from your time in marching band so far?
“There are three moments that all stand out to me. My wrestling coach texted to wish me luck right before we were headed to perform at US Bands Nationals last year, which meant a lot. Then there were the speeches from Gabe and Kyle—both short, sweet, and memorable.”
What advice would you give to younger band members just starting their marching band journey?
“Focus. Focus especially on where you are marching.”
Gabe, your dedication and precision have made a lasting mark on the drumline and the entire Westbrook Marching Band family. Thank you for your leadership and the rhythm you’ve brought to every performance—both on and off the field. 💙🖤
